Exhibition:

Art Gallery Susanne Rikus, Heckmann-Höfe, Oranienburger Str. 32, 10117 Berlin

This painting by Susanne Rikus serves as a vibrant testament to her journey as an artist, healer, and seeker of life’s deeper truths. The composition, with its striking use of color and form, symbolizes the interconnectedness of the human experience, the cosmos, and the earth—a theme that permeates Rikus’s work.

Artwork Interpretation:

The triptych format emphasizes a narrative journey, suggesting a passage from one state of being to another. The central panel, with its radiant, sun-like orb, represents a source of enlightenment and transformation. This element mirrors Rikus’s near-death experience, which was a pivotal moment that deepened her connection to the cosmos and the energies that flow through all things. It symbolizes a portal or gateway—an invitation to transcend the ordinary and step into the sacred space of self-awareness and cosmic connection.

On the left, figures emerge in soft, flowing movements, their gestures pointing towards the center, as if guiding the viewer towards a deeper understanding or a calling from within. The presence of these figures can be seen as guardians or guides—perhaps reflections of Rikus’s own journey through shamanic practices and her roles as both a healer and an artist. This aligns with her therapeutic background, where she has explored the human psyche and the subtle energies that influence our emotional and spiritual well-being.

The right panel introduces a sense of freedom and release. A figure, nude and uninhibited, reaches out towards the central orb, symbolizing the soul’s quest for unity and truth. This act of reaching is a powerful metaphor for Rikus’s own explorations in her art and life—a continuous search for answers and expressions of humanity’s deepest desires and fears. The surrounding landscape, with its bold strokes of blue and orange, suggests a connection to the elemental forces of nature, echoing her time spent in the vibrant environments of Hawaii, Vancouver, and Sardinia.

Connection to Susanne Rikus’s Vita:

Susanne Rikus’s vita is intricately woven into the fabric of this painting. Her experiences in diverse landscapes have gifted her with a profound understanding of nature’s rhythms, which are vividly reflected in her choice of colors and composition. The painting’s energetic vibrancy speaks to her life as a Feng Shui expert and a keeper of Geomancy, roles that underscore her deep connection to the spatial dynamics of energy flow.

The figures and the overall composition also reflect Rikus’s practice in performance art—where singing and dancing serve as conduits for expressing and exploring the depths of human experience. Just as she channels her insights from these performances into her artwork, this painting serves as an exploration of inner and outer worlds, seamlessly blending the physical with the metaphysical.

Through her art, Susanne Rikus continues to delve into the mysteries of existence, offering pieces that are not just visual but deeply experiential. They are gateways to understanding the self and the cosmos, inviting collectors and viewers to not only observe but to engage, reflect, and perhaps find a piece of their own journey mirrored within her work.

Anima Mundi

The trees, the wind, the flowers - they all touch our senses and are our sources for a peaceful world.

Art can and should be a portal into the invisible.

The world soul is a religious and natural philosophical concept. It is based on the idea of an analogy between the totality of the cosmos and the individual living being, especially the human being.

I am an artist, a graduate engineer in architecture (FH), director of this gallery - and always in search of the wisdom of ancient cultures and their way of connecting with the world.

Salon de femme

The title "Anima Mundi" stands for the world soul and the hidden mystery behind the forms of the visible.

The architects of the Middle Ages recognized our deeper connection with the world soul.

In 2019, at the Archaeological Museum of Naples, I was able to see works by Antonio Canova, a Renaissance artist.

With him, and in Florence with other artists of the time, I studied how they transferred the invisible structure of the World Soul into architecture, paintings or sculptures and made it tangible for us.

There is a series on this in this exhibition: photographs with painting transferred to acrylic glass (transfer art).

Paradise - Hawaii

I also studied our connection to the earth and the cosmos in the temple buildings in Hawaii (since 1998) and in Sardinia (since 2007).

I love to explore the unknown and have also studied with shamans, for example in Hawaii and Canada.

women of strength

For me, it's about searching for the hidden meaning of our creation.

How does our soul work?

In 2007 I founded the Alohana Institute (Coaching & Psychotherapy) and help people to heal their traumas and to unfold their rich potential.

Art became more and more a tool for me to heal and to be even closer to the world (human & nature) with it.

We are more than one person having an experience, or one group. In reality, we are all one - invisible patterns connect us to others around the globe.

My motivation

In all the works I was concerned with the relationship of man to nature and the soul of the landscape.
This exhibition is an invitation to see the unknown, the invisible, to understand the soul of the world, that there is a connection between everything.

My research took me to Mexico, Hawaii, Sardinia, Malta, Stonehenge (England) and Carnac (France).

The title "Anima Mundi" stands for the world soul and the hidden mystery behind the forms of the visible.

Susanne Rikus

Art Gallery Susanne Rikus

Art is passion - it is a journey for me and a great way to touch people's heart and soul.

My paintings give hope and people get more vision and believe in themselves.
I have lived in Hawaii and Vancouver.
In my personal life, I needed healing after a serious car accident and went to Hawaii to study. Later I learned hypnosis and other techniques to heal myself.

I am deeply connected to nature and to the subject I want to express.

My visions and my heart guide me to paint these abstract and also figurative paintings.

The ancient cultures inspire me, they contain powerful wisdom that we need in cities to connect inward, to have less fear and more trust.
Art is food for the soul.

Art is more than an investment, it is a partner that talks back, that creates an atmosphere and supports one's dreams and mission.

I feel called to inspire and empower people to believe in themselves and in life.
As an architect, artist and Feng Shui consultant, you will receive unique advice on where to hang your artwork to get the most out of it.

Have a wonderful day and we will change...maybe from the inside out.

Behind every person, lies a true story. Who am I?
How does my project come to life?
Let me take you on a journey that’s been anything but ordinary.
